Requirements
Must:
We require strong knowledge of Linux system administration and experience supporting legacy Unix operating systems, specifically Solaris (5.7, 10.x, 11.x). Proficiency with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) versions 5.x to 9.x and Debian (10.x, 11.x) is essential. We are looking for candidates with scripting skills in Bash, Python, and KSH, as well as experience using automation tools like Ansible. Familiarity with virtualization technologies using VMware, backup technologies such as NetApp, SAN, and Cohesity, and a solid understanding of hardware and OS interactions are important. Additionally, knowledge of security frameworks, the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose system issues, and a proactive, customer-focused approach will be advantageous.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will provide support for live Linux-based IT services through a ticketing system, monitor system performance, and identify and resolve issues within SLA/KPI targets. I will produce and maintain documentation such as build documents and work instructions, build and configure Linux servers, and develop automation scripts. I will deliver server and application support, including backup and virtualization tasks, while collaborating closely with service delivery managers and other teams. Mentoring and supporting junior team members will be part of my duties, as well as participating in new service initiatives and other tasks as directed.
