Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience as a Technical Writer, Technical Author, or Business Case Writer within a technology or IT environment.
- Demonstrated experience writing business cases or investment proposals to secure funding.
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex information.
- Excellent attention to detail and structured analytical approach.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and coordination skills across technical and business teams.
- Experience within the energy or utilities sector, particularly with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) (desirable).
- Familiarity with the RIIO-ED2 regulatory framework (desirable).
- Experience supporting regulatory documentation or submissions to Ofgem (desirable).
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and authorship of detailed business and investment cases for technology initiatives.
- Translate complex technical and operational information into clear, structured documentation suitable for senior leadership and governance approval.
- Collaborate with technology teams, finance, and programme stakeholders to gather data and validate assumptions used in business cases.
- Produce high-quality written artifacts, including investment proposals, briefing papers, and supporting documentation.
- Ensure all documentation follows a thorough, structured, and evidence-based approach with strong attention to detail.
- Coordinate with multiple stakeholders to capture accurate technical, financial, and strategic inputs.
- Support the preparation of documentation required for regulatory or governance submissions where applicable.
