We are seeking a Senior Service Desk Engineer with proven experience in providing 3rd Line (expert-level) support for complex incidents and service requests. To succeed in this role, you should possess strong technical expertise in Microsoft technologies and the Microsoft Cloud Stack, including Azure, WVD, and Endpoint Manager. Hands-on experience in the following is essential: - Azure Active Directory (Identity, MFA, Conditional Access) - Microsoft 365, Intune, Endpoint Management, MDM - Scripting (PowerShell) - DNS, DHCP, VPN, and general networking principles - Familiarity with firewall administration, VPN setup, and network troubleshooting Additionally, experience with ITSM platforms and reporting tools is crucial, with Ivanti Neurons experience being a bonus. A strong understanding of security best practices, including ISO27001, GDPR, and Cyber Essentials, is also required. We prefer candidates who have experience working in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) or a busy service desk environment within an ITIL-driven framework. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment are necessary. An ITIL Foundation certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will play a critical part in providing advanced technical support across the Microsoft stack, including technologies such as Active Directory, Exchange, and Microsoft 365. You will support and manage Azure services, including virtual machines, networking, and identity management. Your responsibilities will also encompass implementing and overseeing change control processes to ensure stability and compliance. You will collaborate closely with the Service Desk Manager and other IT teams to ensure seamless service delivery, monitor service desk performance metrics, and identify areas for improvement. Additionally, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of technical documentation and knowledge base articles while mentoring junior service desk staff to support their technical development. As the go-to engineer during Major Incidents, you will be responsible for producing Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) and Reports for Outages (RFOs).

Maintaining strong communication skills, both written and verbal, will allow you to deliver outstanding customer service consistently. Success metrics for this role include the reduction of incident resolution time and escalation rates, improved service desk performance and customer satisfaction scores, and successful implementation of technical improvements and automation initiatives. We also expect increased collaboration with other IT teams and business stakeholders, along with a rise in technical capability and resilience within the service desk team. Experience with Ivanti Neurons is a nice-to-have but not mandatory. This is a hands-on, senior technical position suited for someone with strong expertise in Microsoft technologies, Azure, networking, and change control. We are excited to find a candidate who can bring leadership, mentoring, and process improvement to our busy service desk environment.
