Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience as an RPG developer
- Strong knowledge of SQL, including embedded SQL
- Familiarity with modern IBMi development techniques such as modules, service programs, and activation groups
- Hands-on experience using IBM Rational Developer
- Solid understanding of software design principles
- Good analytical and problem-solving capability
- Strong communication skills
- Meticulous approach to detail and time management
- Experience in Agile delivery environments
- Degree in computer science or a related field (advantageous)
- Additional exposure to Citrix server administration or vulnerability management (beneficial)
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and enhance components of the core banking platform
- Convert architectural direction and business requirements into clear technical specifications
- Produce clean, modern, and maintainable RPG code across both fixed and free-format styles
- Participate in agile ceremonies and present work to both business and technical stakeholders
- Prepare user guides, training materials, and technical documentation
- Debug and troubleshoot existing applications and update legacy components
- Introduce new features aligned to ongoing development needs
- Collaborate with analysts, architects, and other engineers to ensure adherence to development standards
- Follow governance frameworks and secure engineering practices while meeting expected timelines
