Requirements
Must:
- Extensive Java knowledge and experience is required for this position, specifically Java 17 (preferably 21) and Spring Boot.
- Familiarity with Jenkins, GIT, and CI/CD.
- Experience with Jira and Confluence.
- Proficient in monitoring/alerting tools and solutions.
- Skills in scripting or coding with shell/bash and Python.
- Knowledge of standard SQL and PL/SQL.
- Understanding of Agile principles and practices.
- Excellent client-facing communication skills.
- A DevOps mindset.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with automation.
- Familiarity with core AWS Services and Infrastructure as Code.
- Knowledge of Application Performance Optimization.
Responsibilities
- Support batch processing and conduct proactive analyses across squads and services.
- Support and triage Java products.
- Provide application support for Java applications.
- Review Java code and suggest improvements to enhance quality and performance.
- Investigate and resolve production incidents, problems, and change requests.
- Offer expertise on business processes for projects and production support issues.
- Maintain core systems and related infrastructure, such as Kubernetes and SOLR.
- Improve batch efficiency and reduce costs, including implementing audit-ready data archiving strategies.
- Provide data analysis to support business decisions.
- Deliver patching, database fixes, and critical data correction services.

We are an industry-leading and ambitious financial services company currently seeking a Platform Support Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity with multifaceted responsibilities, including infrastructure, application, and batch support, as well as developing and maintaining Grafana dashboards. We offer a salary range of £50,000 to £60,000 and a wide range of benefits, including 25 days of holiday (with 8 flex days), private medical insurance, a performance-related bonus, and several benefits to support your health and wellbeing. Candidates must be based in the UK and hold a British/EU Passport or Indefinite Leave to Remain, as we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.
