- Proven ability to define and embed automation and tooling strategies.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Responsibilities
As our Engineering Lead, your key responsibilities will include:
- Taking ownership of all aspects of engineering processes, governance, technology, and strategy as part of the customer's Design Authority.
- Defining engineering processes, standards, and guidance that cover the end-to-end lifecycle of various components (software, infrastructure, service management, etc.), ensuring repeatable delivery of governed and assured products.
- Enabling engineering governance by working across multiple suppliers to consistently produce quality artifacts to defined standards.
- Defining engineering and automation tooling requirements and architecture, while supporting teams in the delivery of this technology and the accompanying processes.
- Delivering a vision and strategy for engineering that aligns with the customer's medium to long-term business strategy.
- Ensuring the engineering function delivers value to the customer's business, achieving strategic goals via engineering concepts, guidance, and artifacts.
- Attending Design Authority meetings to support the delivery of customer strategy and position our organization correctly.
- Managing the Engineering Community of Practice, leading a team focused on engineering to fulfill the wider engineering function.
- Capitalizing on opportunities presented in the program to grow and develop a strong automation capability, while sharing knowledge and lessons learned across the business.
- Delivering an engineering function that enables commitments related to cost and time.
- Supporting program teams in adopting engineering processes and tooling.
