Requirements
Must:
- Strong Data Governance Management experience
- Experience in data governance policy definition and development
- In-depth knowledge of data governance frameworks, policies, and standards (e.g., DAMA, Ofgem Data Best Practice)
- Strong understanding of data management, quality, and stewardship principles
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience delivering training and leading forums
- Ability to manage change in a complex environment
- Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and apply them to business policies
- Experience working with data governance platforms (e.g., Informatica) is desirable
- Knowledge of Common Information Model (CIM) and Electricity industry regulatory requirements is a plus
- Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills
Responsibilities
- Own, develop, and embed the organizations Data Governance policies and standards
- Ensure alignment with regulatory obligations and facilitate trusted, high-quality data delivery
- Develop a framework for Data Governance to treat data as an asset
- Define, maintain, and evolve Data Governance policies and standards
- Lead continuous improvement of SPENs Data Triage framework and Data Sharing Infrastructure Trust Framework
- Monitor regulatory developments and implement necessary changes to governance policies
- Ensure alignment with Information Security and Data Protection teams
- Drive adoption of governance policies through effective communication and training
- Manage the SPEN Data Governance Forum and oversee decision-making processes
- Support the development of SPENs data catalogue and establish data custodians
- Attend industry working groups and interface with regulatory bodies on Data Governance
- Foster the development of internal Data Best Practice working methods
