Must:
We are looking for an engineer with recent experience in high-integrity or safety-critical industries such as defence, aerospace, or similar. Candidates must be eligible for UK security clearance and have a strong proficiency in C# and C++. Familiarity with distributed simulation standards (DIS, HLA, DDS) is desirable, as well as experience in developing web services (JavaScript, Node.js or similar). Applicants should also have knowledge of military communication protocols (1553/1760, Ethernet TCP/IP) and a solid understanding of system integration principles and processes.
Responsibilities
In this role, I expect you to design, develop, and integrate simulation software using C# and C++. You will collaborate closely with project leads and architects to deliver complete system representations. Implementing configuration control, continuous integration, and test-driven development practices will be key aspects of your work. You will work within an agile, multidisciplinary team to provide validated simulation solutions and support activities such as system integration, verification, validation, and training.
Description
This position is located in Stevenage, UK, and is offered on a 12-month contract basis. The rate is £49.70 per hour PAYE (£56.93 per hour inclusive of holiday) or £65 per hour under umbrella. Join us in contributing to the development of advanced defence systems across the full product life cycle, from concept to in-service support, focusing on creating and integrating simulation components, digital twins, and emulators that accurately represent weapon systems within synthetic environments.
