Requirements
Must:
- At least 5 years of experience working with Azure data technologies
- Hands-on Data Engineering development experience
- Excellent SQL skills at both a functional and non-functional level
- Knowledge of data integration and workflow applications (ideally Azure Data Factory)
- Experience in an Agile environment
- Proficiency with branch-based source control
- Computer Science or STEM degree
- Experience in coaching and training others
Responsibilities
- Build solutions using Azure data technologies, adhering to best practices and agile processes
- Stay up to date on evolving technologies, ensuring the data platform and team remain current through coaching and technical training
- Ensure that the Data Platform adheres to data governance and compliance policies
- Support operational processes and end users, implementing monitoring and alerting practices to ensure service reliability
- Contribute to the development of junior data engineers and support staff
- Provide guidance to data analysts on interfacing with the Data Platform technologies
- Collaborate with colleagues to support building data capability
- Support the Principal Data Engineer in leading the team and designing solutions, deputizing when required
Description
We are a public sector organization based in Brighton, looking to recruit a Senior Data Engineer on a permanent basis. This role offers a competitive salary of up to £63,000 per year, with a 10% allowance on top, and includes a generous benefits package: 27% pension contribution, 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays, and 14 days flexitime.
