Requirements
Must:
- Strong experience in DevOps practices and methodologies
- Proficiency in cloud services, especially AWS
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Python, and database technologies such as MariaDB, MySQL, and Postgres
- Proven leadership skills and experience in team management
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to platform improvement
- Capacity to balance technical work with team development and culture shaping
Responsibilities
- Modernise and improve the cloud platform
- Manage and lead a small DevOps team
- Split time between hands-on engineering tasks and leadership activities
- Work collaboratively to enhance automation across the platform
- Drive the development of a healthy DevOps culture within the team
- Solve technical problems to improve platform functionality in production
Description
We are a growing online retailer seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer / Platform Engineering Manager to help modernise our cloud platform, which has been evolving for the past decade. We have built a successful product and a strong engineering team and are now ready to take our platform to the next phase. This role offers a balance of hands-on engineering and leadership opportunities and includes hybrid working with two days per week in our London office. We offer a competitive salary of £100k to £105k and the chance to significantly impact our DevOps culture as we continue to grow.
