Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience in hardware engineering within a product-based environment
- Strong understanding of PCB design, embedded systems, and manufacturing
- Experience working directly with factories and component suppliers
- Confidence making technical decisions with commercial and operational impact
- Exposure to full hardware product lifecycles, not just early-stage design
Responsibilities
- Ownership of electronic hardware delivery across multiple products
- PCB design oversight, component selection, and BOM ownership
- Applying DFM / DFA principles to enable reliable, cost-effective manufacturing
- Managing manufacturing partners, PCB fabs, and tooling suppliers
- Handling pilot builds, yield analysis, and production issue resolution
- Managing component lifecycle and EOL risk
- Supporting firmware integration and hardware/firmware alignment
- Ensuring compliance with CE, UKCA, EMC, and safety standards
- Leading, mentoring, and developing Electronics Engineers
- Setting hardware standards, processes, and long-term technical direction
Description

As we seek to appoint a Hardware Engineering Manager, we offer a genuine end-to-end ownership of electronic hardware delivery. This hands-on leadership role allows for close involvement in engineering and technical decision-making. With UK-wide location flexibility and equity participation for all employees, we provide a hardware-centric organization with a long-term product roadmap and stable private-equity backing. Occasional office visits to Hertfordshire may be required.
