IT Business Systems Support Engineer

- Own applications end to end, managing their full lifecycle and working with business stakeholders to agree and deliver appropriate support, resilience, and business continuity. - Monitor and manage reliability against agreed metrics, partnering with IT monitoring teams and stakeholders to ensure sustained performance. - Provide subject-matter expertise on reliability practices to support organisational goals and the reliability roadmap. - Contribute to system design, application management, capacity planning, and architecture discussions, ensuring operational requirements (availability, performance, disaster recovery) are met. - Participate in operational support and on-call rotations for supported systems and products. - Prioritise and manage enhancements and defect resolution. - Lead or contribute to problem management, including blameless post-incident reviews and root cause analysis with documented insights and recommendations. - Collaborate closely with engineering, TMO, and delivery teams to enable high-performing systems management. - Troubleshoot and ensure proactive monitoring (including system health checks housekeeping) is in place. - Ensure applications meet the needs of internal and external customers and support overall business success. - Accountability for ITIL-aligned service management activities, including incident, change and problem management, as well as service improvements.
