Requirements
Must:
- Strong Python programming skills
- Experience with machine learning technologies
- Hands-on experience with message queue technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Celery
- Proven ability to build REST API services
- Excellent debugging and analytical problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Desirable experience with Kubernetes or OpenShift
- Desirable experience with UNIX or Windows systems administration
- Desirable experience with storage technologies including SAN, NAS, or S3
- Desirable experience with backup and data protection platforms such as Veritas NetBackup
- Desirable experience with Perl scripting
Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable automation solutions focused on workload orchestration, backup abstraction, and self-service capabilities delivered through REST APIs
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams and subject matter experts across backup, storage, database, and UNIX environments
- Help shape future-state architecture and migration strategies
- Build reliable, enterprise-grade applications using modern technology stacks
- Work effectively in both greenfield and legacy environments
- Solve complex technical challenges independently
Description
We are a global enterprise technology team supporting critical infrastructure and automation initiatives within a leading financial services environment. The role is based in Glasgow with onsite work required three days per week, and it is offered as a 12-month contract at a day rate of £450 PAYE. We value strong engineering capability, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to deliver robust solutions in complex enterprise environments.
