Requirements
Must:
- Proven leadership of multiple engineering teams
- Strong Data Engineering / DataOps background
- Experience in large, data-heavy environments
- Python / PySpark for end-to-end pipelines
- Strong AWS experience (design & deployment)
- Deep knowledge of data modelling, warehousing & lakehouse concepts
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Agile delivery experience
Responsibilities
- Lead, scale and develop multiple data engineering teams
- Own and deliver large-scale data platform and pipeline initiatives (ETL/ELT)
- Define and implement data architecture aligned to AI and analytics strategy
- Partner with senior stakeholders across business and technology
- Drive data quality, governance and engineering best practices
- Oversee planning, prioritisation and execution of data projects
Description
We are a global asset manager located in Manchester, looking for a Head of Data Engineering to lead our European Data & Analytics function. This senior leadership role focuses on strategy, delivery, and team development, requiring no hands-on work. We offer a competitive salary of £130k with an extensive total compensation package of around £200k. You will work onsite for three days a week (Tuesday to Thursday) and join a dynamic team committed to driving analytics and data science across the UK & Europe.
