Must:
We are looking for candidates with proven experience in Cat 5 and Cat 6 network cabling and installations. You should have experience configuring switches, access points, and network equipment. We value the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a small project team. Flexibility to work backshifts (4 PM - 2 AM) and day shifts during the school half-term is essential. Note that no IPAF or CSCS certification is required as work will be performed on school grounds.
Responsibilities
As a Data Engineer, your key responsibilities will include installing, terminating, and testing Cat 5 and Cat 6 cabling. You will be responsible for deploying and configuring network switches, access points, and antennas. It is imperative to ensure that all network installations meet project specifications and standards. Additionally, you will need to work efficiently within the school environment, adhering to the scheduled shift times, and collaborate with the project team to ensure the timely completion of the project within 4-6 weeks.
Description
This position is part of a short-term project supporting the upgrade of a school's WiFi network as part of a government grant initiative. The project involves the installation of 99 access points, network switches, antennas, and associated cabling. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced Data Engineers to contribute to a meaningful initiative within the education sector.
