We are looking for a 2nd Line IT Support Engineer with a preference for candidates who have experience in the education sector. You should have expertise in Mobile Device Management (MDM) systems such as JAMF or Intune and possess support experience for MacOS and iOS devices. Knowledge of Google Workspace for Education, Windows 10/11 support, and audio/visual devices, including smart boards and projectors, is essential. Additionally, you should have experience with hardware and software installation, IP telephone support, antivirus, anti-spam support, and network printer support. A basic understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, VLAN, VPN, SSL, IPSec, switches, routers, and Wi-Fi access points, is required. Excellent organizational and communication skills, combined with a proactive approach, are crucial.
Responsibilities
As a 2nd Line IT Support Engineer, I will be responsible for providing support to teachers and students, serving up to 90 end users. My duties will include configuring MacOS, iPad OS, Chromebooks, and Windows 11, as well as administering Google Workspace for Education. I will set up mobile devices using MDM solutions, support various IT devices in classrooms, manage the imaging of workstations and laptops, and maintain IT systems and network infrastructure on a daily basis. Additionally, I will manage end-user hardware provisioning, updates, and security, while also supporting infrastructure such as network switches, domain controllers, and firewalls. I will collaborate with third-party suppliers to ensure cost-efficient procurement of hardware and services, assist with inventory management of software licenses, and maintain IT security and compliance policies in alignment with school procedures and health and safety policies. Ultimately, I will support the smooth running and development of the IT department.
Description
This position is permanent, based on-site in Chiswick, London, with working hours from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday. There is some flexibility to work from home during school holidays.
