Requirements
Must:
- At least 2 years' experience in manual QA across both front and back-end.
- Strong SQL skills — able to write and run queries for validation and troubleshooting.
- Confident with API testing tools such as Postman.
- Comfortable writing your own test cases from scratch.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate effectively.
- Clear communication skills and a quality-first mindset.
- Exposure to tools like Jira or Confluence.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with developers and product managers to plan, execute, and refine testing efforts.
- Write test cases, dive into databases, and APIs as part of delivering a seamless user experience.
- Design, execute, and maintain manual test cases across web and back-end systems.
- Test APIs using Postman and validate data through SQL queries.
- Proactively identify risks and suggest improvements.
- Become a product expert and champion user experience and functionality.
Description
We at MCS Group are looking for a Manual QA Engineer for a 6-month Fixed-Term Contract in Belfast. If you are a detail-oriented Manual QA who thrives in environments where you can take ownership and make a real impact, then this opportunity is for you. In this role, you will help build robust, user-centered products for our SME client. You'll be a dedicated Manual QA resource within a Scrum Team and play a key role in ensuring the quality of the platform across both the front and back end. This hands-on role requires a high degree of autonomy and confidence as you'll be the voice of quality on the team, with the ability to drive best practices throughout the development cycle. We offer a competitive salary of £35k - £40k and a hybrid work environment, requiring you to be in the office 3 days per week. If you're interested, we encourage you to apply.
