Requirements
Must:
- I have a degree (or equivalent experience) in IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- I possess proven experience in IT Service Desk Management, Infrastructure Operations, and Cybersecurity.
- I have at least 5 years of experience leading and developing high-performing IT teams.
- I have solid experience with incident response, root cause analysis, and ITIL-based processes.
- I have a strong understanding of security frameworks (ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials) and data protection (GDPR).
- I possess excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- I have a proactive and adaptable approach, and I am comfortable leading hands-on in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- I will lead and develop the IT Service Desk and Infrastructure team, ensuring high-quality, reliable support across the organisation.
- I will oversee the design, stability, and performance of the IT infrastructure - including servers, networks, cloud, and on-premise environments.
- I will drive robust security management, maintaining compliance with ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, and GDPR.
- I will manage vendor relationships and coordinate third-party support for hardware, software, and network services.
- I will play a key role in supporting the implementation of a new ERP system, ensuring readiness across infrastructure, support, and user enablement.
- I will develop and enforce IT policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and best practice in all aspects of IT operations.
- I will contribute to the IT strategy and roadmap, identifying opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
Description
I am hiring for a hands-on IT Operations and Security professional for a 3-month post with our client, a true Northern Ireland success story. As their IT Support & Operations Manager, I will lead a skilled technical team to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of critical IT systems. The role will be based onsite in Ballymena, with a salary of £60k - £70k per annum (pro rata). The working hours will be Monday to Thursday from 8:15 am to 5 pm, and on Friday from 8 am to 1 pm.
