- Access to a car and the ability to drive due to potential stakeholder engagement needs.
Desirable:
- Additional Certifications: CCNA, ITIL Foundation, Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate).
- Methodology: Experience working in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Delivery: Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-level network infrastructure, focusing on high availability and security.
- Cloud Deployment: Deploy and manage Microsoft Azure services, including Virtual Machines, storage, and networking (VPNs, data flow architecture), while ensuring appropriate security controls.
- Protocol Management: Utilize a solid understanding of core network protocols like TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN to ensure compatibility with existing intranet systems.
- Security & Compliance: Implement network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDPS), and endpoint protection.
- Troubleshooting: Expertly troubleshoot complex network and Azure-related issues using advanced network analysis tools.
- Project Leadership: Work within an Agile framework, participating in stand-ups and sprint reviews.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate effectively with a small internal team, multiple business units, and external third-party providers.

Description
We are looking for an energetic go-getter with strong technical capabilities in networking and Azure Cloud services. This is an 8-month Fixed-Term Contract with a high probability of converting to a permanent position. You will be an integral part of deploying an enhanced scientific network cluster and contributing to a vital Microsoft Azure Proof of Concept within a sensitive government-based network environment. This position offers a hybrid working model (2 days in the office, 3 days working from home) and a standard workweek of 37.5 hours from Monday to Friday. The salary is £61,673 per annum. Successful candidates must be able to meet the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) requirements and undergo a pre-employment screening check.
