Requirements
Must:
We are looking for candidates who meet the following qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades 9-4, including English Language, Mathematics, and any Science or Technology subject.
- After completing GCSEs, you must have achieved 120 UCAS Tariff points through one of the following:
- 3 A-levels, including Maths or Computing/Computer Science, with grades A* to C (grades below a C will not be considered).
- A T-Level in a Software Engineering/Computing field at Merit or Distinction.
- A BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in an IT, Maths, Science, or Engineering subject at a minimum grade of DDM. Candidates applying with an Engineering or Science BTEC must provide evidence of completing a Further Maths module.
*Please note that we evaluate entry criteria based on your top three full A Levels or equivalent qualifications (BTEC/T Level) and do not include UCAS points from an Extended Project Qualification.*
Responsibilities
As an apprentice in our Software Engineering Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship, you will:
- Study towards a BSc (Hons) Digital & Technology Solutions Software Engineer pathway at one of our partnering universities.
- Participate in six 6-month placements over your first three years, gaining insight into each department within Software.
- Engage in all aspects of the software development lifecycle within a supportive team.
- Take on a year-long placement in your chosen department in your final year, running alongside your final project.
- Work on various software products, including mission planning and control systems, real-time components, and test systems.
- Collaborate with other teams and departments across different technologies and methodologies.
