Requirements

Must:
We are looking for a software engineer focused on embedded software development for Real Time systems. The ideal candidate will have significant previous experience of developing embedded software using Ada, and C/C++. Experience in model-based development, using UML or tools such as IBM's Rhapsody is required. You should have a "can do" and flexible approach, and enjoy solving technical problems that sometimes extend beyond the bounds of software. A focus on code quality and the ability to engage in code and design reviews is essential. You should also be capable of developing maintainable and extensible code to adapt to changes in requirements. Effective communication and collaboration skills with multiple stakeholders, including Systems Engineering, Electronics and Electrical, and Test and Validation teams, are crucial.

Responsibilities

As an ADA Embedded Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing software according to our processes and agreed timescales. You will act proactively and report to a Software Design Authority or Software Project Lead. The software is developed in ADA, and you will work in a small team throughout the Software Development Lifecycle on the requirements, architecture, detailed design, implementation, testing, and delivery of missile subsystem software. This role will require you to interface with multiple stakeholders across various disciplines such as systems design, electronics design, safety, security, and quality.

Description

We are offering a competitive salary, circa £57,000 depending on experience, along with additional benefits such as a company bonus of up to £2,500 based on company performance, a pension scheme with a maximum total contribution of up to 14%, opportunities for paid overtime, and up to 15 additional days of flexible leave. We welcome applicants looking for flexible working arrangements. Our enhanced parental leave policy provides up to 26 weeks for maternity, adoption, and shared parental leave, with enhancements available for paternity leave, neonatal leave, and fertility testing and treatments. Our facilities include fantastic site benefits, such as subsidised meals and free car parking. Join us at MBDA, a leading defence organisation, where we support the Armed Forces that protect our nations. We pride ourselves on our commitment to diversity and inclusion, with employee-led networks focusing on various aspects such as Gender Equality, Neurodiversity, and more.
