Requirements
Must:
We are looking for candidates with a strong background in modeling and simulation software development, particularly in C++. Essential qualifications include:
- Strong C++ programming skills
- Experience with Visual Studio/Windows development tools
- Knowledge of RF, countermeasure, and flyout simulation tools, preferably in a defense context
- Expertise in radar systems
- A background in physics, engineering, or mathematics
- Clear communication skills to explain and adapt models
Supporting skills that would enhance your application include:
- RF system knowledge and/or broader systems engineering experience
- Proficiency in MATLAB or Python for data analysis and visualization
- Experience with MATLAB / Simulink
- Familiarity with Defense/Air Platform protection systems and threat systems (such as SAMs, IADS, Sensors, FPVs)
- Potential to support Operational Analysis study work
Non-negotiables:
Due to the highly secure nature of our projects, you must be a UK National and eligible to work in the UK, as well as eligible to obtain and maintain a UK Government SC-level security clearance.
Responsibilities
As a C++ Software Engineer in our Electronic Warfare Operations Support Group (EWOS), your primary responsibilities will include:
- Developing toolsets, models, and integration activities within our in-house simulation framework (ITASE)
- Incorporating or adapting existing Dstl data/models into studies
- Linking libraries, developing from theory, and re-coding existing algorithms and data
- Understanding and aligning assumptions and data across components
- Implementing the interactions of multiple entities in a scenario
