Requirements
Must:
- Strong production support experience, including on-call and OOH releases.
- Significant hands-on experience with on-prem Kubernetes / OpenShift.
- Linux systems administration in high-availability environments.
- Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, with CI/CD integration (Jenkins).
- Deep understanding of observability tooling: ELK, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana.
- Proven incident-management leadership.
- Strong knowledge of Agile and modern DevOps practices.
- Leadership and mentoring capability.
- Security-first mindset.
- Strong adherence to governance, SLAs and environment management best practice.
- Experience with cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS or GCP.
- Exposure to financial services systems or payments platforms (desirable).
- Relevant certifications (Oracle, RedHat, Microsoft, Kafka, etc.) (desirable).
Responsibilities
- Supporting, maintaining, and developing changes across the Banks RTGS solution.
- Coaching and mentoring colleagues on best practice DevOps approaches.
- Working closely with solution designers and helping shape domain-wide architectural and technology roadmaps.
- Managing deployments, environments, and recovery procedures for mission-critical systems.
- Participating in agile ceremonies and promoting continuous improvement and modern engineering practices.
- Providing in- and out-of-hours support to a 24/7 production environment.
- Owning major incident responses and driving post-incident reliability improvements.
Description
We are a high-profile Banking client seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team responsible for the Banks Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) platform, one of the UKs most critical national infrastructure services. This is a 6-month hybrid contract role, requiring in-office presence in London or Leeds for 2 days a week.
