Requirements
Must:
- I hold a Bachelor’s degree or have substantive experience in electrical engineering, electrical and computer engineering, or related fields.
- I possess an excellent understanding of both analogue and digital circuit principles, with a focus on mixed-signal design.
- I have experience with the full PCB design lifecycle, from taking functional specifications to generating manufacturing data.
- I am hands-on with PCB design tools (e.g., Altium) and simulation software (e.g., SPICE).
- I have demonstrated the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex electronics issues.
- I have experience utilizing laboratory equipment for testing and validation, such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers.
- I am familiar with product lifecycle management, from initial design through production and support.
- I have experience with miniaturization and rigid flex PCB design, including stackups, bend radius control, impedance in flex, stiffeners, and reliability.
Responsibilities
- I design and develop mixed-signal electronics systems that interface digital and analogue components effectively.
- I translate functional requirements into PCBA implementation.
- I conduct PCB design and layout, focusing on signal integrity and optimal routing techniques.
- I generate manufacturing files and auxiliary documentation for PCB fabrication.
- I build prototypes and PCBAs, modifying and fixing errors as required.
- I collaborate closely with other engineering disciplines to integrate mixed-signal solutions into larger systems.
- I support supplier identification and engagement for component sourcing.
Description
While not required, I also have nice-to-have experience in the following areas: - USB 2.0 High Speed and USB Audio Class 2, I2S and TDM audio data paths, and Ethernet and audio over IP concepts. - Knowledge of clocking and jitter management with low phase noise, as well as signal integrity and power integrity for high-speed interfaces. - Experience with reset, boot, and timing strategies across mixed architectures. - Safety awareness, including EN 55032, EN 55035, and RoHS and REACH compliance, as well as the creation of technical files for CE and UKCA. - Proficiency in design for manufacture and design for assembly with fabricators and contract manufacturers. - Knowledge of design for test with accessible test points and simple fixtures, and basic scripted bench testing for repeatable validation. - Audio over IP experience, such as Dante or AVB.
