Requirements
Must:
We require candidates to have at least ITIL3 or ITIL 4 Foundation Certification. You should have proven work experience as an Application Engineer or in a similar role, along with skills in scripting and automation of deployments. Experience in deploying, optimizing, and maintaining software is essential. We are looking for individuals with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, great customer service and interpersonal skills, superb collaboration and communication, as well as strong organization and time management skills. Relevant training and/or certifications as an Application Engineer are preferred. Knowledge of virtualized environments such as VMware and Hyper-V, and familiarity with Windows Server Environments (from Server 2008 to 2022) including OS build, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy from design to implementation and support are also required.
Responsibilities
As a Software Application Operations Engineer, I will be responsible for providing clients with technical support as needed and relaying information to our development teams for ongoing maintenance and update needs. I will integrate with IT Asset Management and obsolescence teams to acquire vendor information on software lifecycles and maintenance agreements. My role will also involve optimizing applications by integrating new technologies and performing upgrades. I will manage the deployment of applications and operating systems to VDI-based solutions, preferably using VMware Horizon. Additionally, I will perform diagnostic tests and debugging procedures, improve code, and redesign tasks as necessary. Generating ideas for software innovation based on market trends and documenting development processes, procedures, and application version histories are also part of my responsibilities, along with keeping up with advancements in application engineering and new technologies.
