We require candidates to have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline. Proven experience in Combat Systems Engineering implementation and delivery within the defence maritime domain is essential. A strong understanding of naval platforms (such as surface ships, UAVs/USVs, and StrikeNet) and their mission requirements is important. Candidates should possess experience in technical governance/sign off and technical Combat System design authority roles, along with an understanding of overarching maritime autonomy principles and strategy, to influence and implement our technical strategy and direction. Familiarity with systems engineering lifecycle (ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288), MBSE, and digital twin concepts, as well as hands-on experience with architecture frameworks (e.g., MODAF, NAF, TOGAF) and tools (e.g., Sparx EA, Cameo), is required. Knowledge of cybersecurity, safety, and information assurance in defence systems, along with strong stakeholder management and technical leadership skills, will set you apart. It would be advantageous if you have experience with multinational defence programs or NATO interoperability standards, an understanding of shipbuilding programs, integrated logistics support (ILS), and lifecycle sustainment, and exposure to AI, autonomy, or edge computing technologies in maritime settings. Responsibilities

In this role, I will lead the design and implementation of the platform combat system, which includes systems like StrikeNet, ATAK, communications, navigation, and the Combat Management System for the new Sea Dagger platform. I will direct the definition, selection, and build-out of the compute stack hosting the Combat System, while supporting the generation and acceptance of user and system-level requirements that define the operational need for the Combat System element. I will engage with military stakeholders, engineering teams, partners, and subcontractors to define and validate combat system solutions and will be responsible for reviewing and implementing solutions to ensure compliance with military standards, safety, and security requirements. Additionally, I will support bid and proposal efforts and conduct trade studies to assess system performance, scalability, and interoperability. I will provide governance and oversight across engineering delivery to ensure technical alignment and integration across maritime opportunities, while staying abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and system improvement.
