Requirements
Must:
We are looking for candidates with experience in Sentinel, Microsoft XDR, Microsoft Defender variants, and Elastic Security, or the aptitude to learn how to work with a SIEM. You should have knowledge of SIEM tools, Cyber Security Incident Response, Vulnerability Management, and Cyber Threat Intelligence. Experience in investigating Cyber Security incidents and supporting root cause analysis is essential, or you must demonstrate transferable skills and acumen to learn and excel at it. A solid understanding of the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability (CIA) triad and current trends in malware, ransomware, and Advanced Persistent Threats affecting Cloud Platforms and On-Premises solutions is required.
You should also have experience working within a Change Controlled environment, along with an understanding of the OSI 7 network layers and TCP/IP network layers. Knowledge of network and boundary protection controls, including but not limited to Firewalls, DDoS Protection, and Intrusion Detection Systems, is necessary. Strong communication and soft skills are required, including verbal and written skills for reports and documentation during Cyber Security incidents. A positive attitude, team collaboration, and the ability to manage multiple streams of work while prioritizing effectively are crucial.
Responsibilities
As a Cyber Defence Analyst within our CSOC (Cyber Security Operations Centre) Team, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity and security of Cyber Security systems and networks. You will support Cyber Security initiatives through both predictive and reactive analysis, articulating emerging trends to leadership and staff. You will analyze events using data collected from Cyber Defence tools such as firewalls and Security Orchestration and Automated Response (SOAR) systems.
Your duties will include responding to alerts from various Cyber Security tools, proactively detecting suspicious activity and vulnerabilities, and inspecting and correlating logs from multiple sources. You will continuously scan the Threat Horizon and report on threats that could damage a client’s network. Engaging with security communities to share knowledge on Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) and Threats is essential. You will also run Vulnerability Assessment tools, conduct daily CSOC checks, and record the events of Cyber Security Incidents concisely. Striving for continuous improvement in CSOC processes and collaborating closely with stakeholders are key aspects of the role.
