Temenos Transact Developer & Database Administrator
£60,000 - 60,000
Langley James Limited
Paul Street 86-90, Broadgate
£60,000 - 60,000
Requirements
Must:
We are looking for someone with familiarity with Temenos Transact (T24) data structures and core banking systems. You should have experience in SQL Server development and administration (SQL Server 2016 or later), with strong proficiency in T-SQL, database design, and performance tuning. Proven experience in database administration, including security management, backup/recovery, and maintenance planning, is essential. You should be able to independently gather and analyze requirements and translate them into technical database solutions. A solid understanding of relational database concepts and normalization is required, along with experience in ETL processes, data integration, and reporting tools (e.g., SSIS, SSRS, Power BI). Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong communication and interpersonal skills are also necessary. We value those who can work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and are willing to use other data analysis and reporting tools used by the bank.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain SQL Server databases, stored procedures, views, triggers, and functions. You will gather, analyze, and interpret user requirements to design and deliver effective database solutions with minimal supervision. Administering, monitoring, and optimizing SQL Server environments to ensure availability, performance, and security will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will implement and manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies, supporting application teams in integrating and accessing data efficiently. Troubleshooting and resolving database issues, including performance bottlenecks, deadlocks, and query optimization, will also be part of your duties. Additionally, you will create and maintain technical documentation for database systems and processes, collaborate with business analysts, developers, and infrastructure teams to ensure data integrity and solution alignment, and provide data analysis, reporting, and business intelligence support as required. Staying up to date with SQL Server best practices and emerging database technologies will be essential as well.
Description
This position is with an International Bank based in the City of London, offering a competitive salary of around £60,000. The role is office-based, and you will be part of a team of four. While familiarity with cloud-based SQL environments (e.g., Azure SQL Database), knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and version control (e.g., Git), as well as exposure to data governance, compliance, and security best practices are desirable, the willingness to learn is equally important. Knowledge of Python programming and an eagerness to learn and use Kestra, an orchestration and workflow automation platform, would also be beneficial.
