Requirements

Must:
- I have 6+ years of experience in a Security Engineer role, including experience in security monitoring, incident response, and threat hunting in a cloud environment. - I possess a strong background in cloud security, particularly with AWS services, ECS, and container environments. - I am proficient in scripting or programming for security automation and detection-as-code. - I have a solid understanding of adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) and MITRE ATT&CK principles. - I am experienced with SIEM and SOAR platforms, with a particular familiarity with Red Canary. - I exhibit strong communication skills and a proven ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. - I have expertise on AWS security controls and services. - I leverage coding for automation, alert enrichment, and detections efficiently. - I apply hands-on experience with data analysis, modeling, and correlation at scale. - I am knowledgeable about operating systems internals and forensics for macOS, Windows, and Linux. - I have experience developing tools and automation using common DevOps toolsets and programming languages. - I understand malware functionality and persistence mechanisms. - I possess the ability to analyze endpoint, network, and application logs for anomalous events. - I have experience handling security incidents and investigating anomalies as part of a team.

Responsibilities

- I will respond to security events by triaging, conducting investigations, and performing incident analysis. - I will build and enhance processes and technologies utilized for detection and response. - I will automate workflows to improve the identification and response time for security events. - I will build and optimize detection rules, runbooks, and incident playbooks for both new and existing detections. - I will develop tools and systems to collect security telemetry from cloud production environments. - I will lead threat hunting efforts to identify signals that enhance security controls. - I will collaborate cross-functionally with engineering teams to embed security best practices. - I will drive continuous process improvement and contribute to fostering a culture of learning from incidents. - I will participate in an on-call rotation once every 4 weeks to support critical incident response.

Description


We are offering a competitive package of up to £90K, with some flexibility for the right candidate. Initially, we would like you to be onsite one day per week for the first couple of months, transitioning to 1-2 times per month once you are fully settled in.
