Requirements
Must:
We are looking for a Senior AWS Engineer with demonstrated experience in a DevOps or cloud engineering role, particularly with a strong emphasis on AWS. You should have expertise in AWS services and architecture, along with solid knowledge of cloud networking and security. Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform and CloudFormation, as well as configuration tools such as Ansible, is crucial. Hands-on experience with container technologies and orchestration platforms (Docker, ECS, or Kubernetes) is also required. You should possess strong knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline. Additionally, having solid scripting abilities (e.g., Python, Bash) alongside excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills will be essential.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will expect you to design, build, and manage scalable, secure, and reliable AWS infrastructure using services like EC2, ECS, Lambda, and RDS. You will automate infrastructure provisioning and application deployment using IaC tools. Developing, maintaining, and improving CI/CD pipelines to streamline and standardize application delivery processes will be part of your job. You’ll also monitor infrastructure performance and availability with observability tools, while implementing security best practices to ensure platform compliance. Furthermore, managing and optimizing database and caching services (RDS, Elasticache) for performance, scalability, and resilience will be key tasks. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be necessary to support the deployment of new features, ensuring operational efficiency and platform reliability.
Description
This position offers a day rate between £450 - £550 (outside IR35) and will be for a duration of 6 months. The work arrangement is hybrid, based in London, requiring you to be on-site one day a week.
