Requirements
Must:
- Strong Linux sysadmin experience, preferably with Debian.
- Proficiency in Ansible (non-negotiable).
- Comfortable with Infrastructure as Code (IAC), networking, and general troubleshooting in a 24/7 production environment.
- Proficient in TCP/IP, DNS management, and troubleshooting network issues.
- Experience with BGP/OSPF and Juniper technologies is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with web technologies (Nginx/Apache), containerization (Docker), cloud services (AWS is a bonus), and basic database administration (MySQL or Galera is ideal).
- Bonus: Any experience in audio streaming or media platforms.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary resource for all DevOps and Linux systems concerns.
- Automate infrastructure using Ansible.
- Support live and on-demand audio services.
- Play a key role in the journey towards containerization and hybrid cloud solutions.
- Work primarily with on-premises workloads, utilizing Proxmox and VMware, along with some involvement with AWS and GCP.
Description
We are a business at the start of an exciting new chapter, recently acquired by one of Europe's largest commercial audio groups. We are scaling our platform and preparing for significant growth, supporting the Head of Infrastructure across our 24/7 environment. Our team consists of 10 members, a mix of infrastructure, development, and customer support. We operate on a fully remote basis but may require occasional travel to data centers in the UK and Europe. We offer a choice of Mac or Windows laptops, a salary of up to £75k, £40 per day on-call pay (increased to £100 on bank holidays), 25 days of leave, and a Time Off In Lieu (TOIL) policy. This position is ideal for someone hands-on, Linux-focused, who enjoys autonomy, variety, and embraces both legacy systems and migration challenges. While audio/media experience is a plus, we value curiosity and technical depth above all.
