Requirements

Must:
We are looking for someone with proven experience in developing architectural strategies and roadmaps. You should have expertise in designing solutions in Azure, microservices, containerization, and Azure Landing Zone environments. Familiarity with enterprise architecture principles and effective governance practices is essential. A strong background in IT architecture methodologies and cloud computing platforms is also required. Additionally, you should be proficient in translating enterprise strategies into actionable roadmaps and solutions, and have experience in technology evaluation and selection to support organizational goals. Desirable skills include an understanding of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, strong commercial awareness to balance technology choices with financial considerations, broad technology experience (including integration, middleware, and business systems), knowledge of software development methodologies, and experience in regulated industries such as banking, finance, or insurance.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will lead the definition and communication of the enterprise architecture needed to achieve strategic outcomes. You will maintain the current architecture landscape while developing the target architecture and roadmaps. It will be your responsibility to deliver high-quality enterprise architecture designs, ensuring alignment with business value and broader technology strategies. You will also lead migrations of on-premise applications to Azure, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity. By collaborating with stakeholders, you will integrate business requirements into architecture roadmaps and designs, supporting delivery teams throughout project lifecycles to meet target outcomes. Additionally, you will actively contribute to the Technology Design Authority, reviewing and approving new technologies and services, while building strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives. As a leader, you will guide and mentor a small team of architects within the infrastructure and cyber domain, staying informed on emerging technologies and introducing innovations where appropriate.

Description

We offer a competitive salary of £115,000 along with a bonus of 20% and up to 20% pension. Our work model is hybrid, based in London. You will report to the Head of Architecture and carry enterprise-wide responsibilities for shaping and influencing the bank's technology landscape. Your mission will be to align the change portfolio with our strategic technology goals, ensuring consistency throughout the delivery lifecycle.
