Senior IT Technician

- I will ask you to assist me in managing and coordinating ICT systems and hardware for the company, ensuring that new projects are delivered on time with accurate data input. - You will be responsible for maintaining our current Helpdesk system, keeping all parties informed of any issues as they arise, and working proactively to streamline internal workflows. - Your role will involve fault-finding across networks, printers, desktops, laptops, mobile phones, and associated infrastructure, as well as monitoring the network to keep hardware fault-free—resolving issues in a timely manner. - Implementation of advised fixes in conjunction with off-site support and liaising with third-party ICT service and software providers will be part of your duties. - You will travel to other depots as required to provide in-person support, coaching, and guidance, including setting up equipment and networking on-site. - Assisting the Management Team in developing and delivering timely, accurate, and meaningful management reports using our ICT software will also be part of your responsibilities. - Keeping our ICT policies up to date, including risk strategies and associated training for staff, will be required. - You will work closely with the IT Manager and other members of the Management Team to identify business performance infrastructure needs and assist with the ongoing development of our ICT strategy. - Building and maintaining strong relationships with IT suppliers and documenting the existing ICT infrastructure while making recommendations for future needs will be important. - Ensuring IT activities comply with applicable laws, codes of practice, and regulations, as well as managing user access requests and authorizations, will also fall under your remit. - You will assist in managing and maintaining the company’s mobile phones, IT hardware, photocopiers, and landline phone systems, ensuring all IT equipment is recorded in the asset register. - You will help prepare quarterly board reports and deputize for the IT Manager in their absence when necessary. - Some flexibility with hours may be required due to business needs, and you will utilize Visual Basic (VB) for software development, particularly with Excel, and integrate SQL databases with other systems for management reporting.
