I am looking for a candidate who possesses experience and proven efficiency in network infrastructures, including monitoring solutions and CCTV systems. A working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and RDS, as well as HyperV, Microsoft Server, Veeam, MIS, and Windows software, is essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks, work flexibly, and manage conflicting workloads to meet deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to liaise effectively with colleagues and external service providers.
Responsibilities
As the School IT Manager/Senior Technician, I will expect you to support the management of all aspects of our school's administrative and curriculum networks, including servers, email, and security systems, ensuring a safe and efficient IT environment for staff and students. You will advise the senior team on staff training requirements for core programmes and support the IT Technician in developing their skills to maintain smooth IT system operations. It will be your responsibility to consider health and safety, safeguarding, and welfare for yourself and others. You will ensure that all support tickets are completed according to priority and as quickly as possible, assist in the implementation of the school's ICT strategy, and monitor practices for data protection and ICT resource management. You will also be responsible for maintaining in-school policy manuals, user notes, and how-to guides.
Description
In this role, you will ensure that the network operates during access hours, with appropriate backup protocols implemented and tested. You will deliver the school's maintenance programme and support the resolution of hardware and software failures. It will be your duty to ensure all software is licensed, updates are installed, and any issues are communicated to the senior leadership team. Additionally, you will assist in setting up security parameters, implementing virus checks, and installing new computer software as required. You will manage internet access filtering, email filtering, and related monitoring systems, as well as maintain the school's ICT inventory and oversee the CCTV, copiers, and phone systems.
