Requirements

Must:
- I require an understanding of ITIL processes, including incident management, change management, and problem management while adhering to strict SLAs. - You should possess the ability to understand business logic, technical tools, and demonstrate analytical thinking. - I expect you to have knowledge of application design and development, including agile methodologies, application and database design, and infrastructure technologies. - An understanding of application backup, restores, and the application Disaster Recovery (DR) process is necessary. - Experience with web services, distributed systems, and web application development is essential. - Previous experience in incident and service request resolution using Service Management Tools is required. - I value an appreciation of application languages and technologies such as SQL, HTML, .NET, C#, and IIS hosting. - Additionally, experience with Elasticsearch or a NoSQL document store and administering multiple monitoring systems such as Kubernetes, Grafana, and Elastic Cloud is beneficial. - A strong background in all aspects of database technology is essential, along with experience in writing and executing complex SQL queries. - Familiarity with stored procedures, views, functions, and SQL jobs for Microsoft SQL databases is important. - You should have experience utilizing appropriate ITIL-based Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes and procedures to support and maintain applications.

Responsibilities

- You will monitor components such as web servers, application servers, log files, disk space, and MS-SQL databases. - I would like you to serve as a point of escalation for all application-related issues. - Working as part of a second-line support function, you will follow incident management through to incident resolution. - I expect you to apply your problem-solving skills, leveraging previous experiences to tackle new challenges while working towards root cause analysis. - Collaboration with third-party suppliers, stakeholders, and departmental ICT teams will be necessary to assist in delivering patch/release of applications while also coordinating vendor support. - You will maintain middleware technologies including IIS, MS-SQL Server, Active Directory, ASP, and .NET—this includes troubleshooting, performance tuning, basic querying, and resolving bottlenecks. - I want you to work on cloud and container technologies, particularly with Kubernetes. - Design, development, testing, and deployment of Tableau dashboards will be part of your role. - You will conduct report writing using tools like PowerShell, JavaScript, HTML, and SQL. - Daily support of COTS and web-based software applications is expected, with a strong focus on problem-solving. - Maintaining a strong customer focus, you must understand the needs of both internal and external customers and keep these in mind when taking actions or making decisions.
