Requirements
Must:
We are seeking candidates with the following skills and experience:
- Network Architecture / Architecture (Compute/storage/End User)
- Experience working in secure environments
- Proficiency in Network Design (HLD/LLD)
- Knowledge of Cisco Networking (Routing/Switching)
- Experience in Data Centre Networking
- Familiarity with Cisco ACI
- Firewalls experience (Palo Alto / Cisco)
- Knowledge of Authentication (802.1x / Cisco ISE / AD)
- Network management skills
- Experience with Load balancing (NetScaler)
- Familiarity with Cisco SDA (Software Defined Access)
- Knowledge of Meraki and Wi-Fi technologies
- Remote Access capabilities
- Understanding of Encryption
Candidates who currently hold or have previously held high-level security clearance are especially encouraged to apply. Please note that successful applicants will need to undergo a security clearance process prior to appointment, which may take a minimum of 10 weeks.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Contributing to High-Level Designs
- Creating Low-Level Designs from approved High-Level Designs
- Configuring core infrastructure components such as Data Centre Fabric, Access/Distribution Switches, routers, WAN, firewalls, load balancers, Authentication servers, Wifi controllers, and management tooling
- Performing impact assessments on large or complex networks
- Conducting testing according to pre-determined plans and analyzing results
- Planning and surveying for cross/site distribution areas (Fiber) and checking for cabling power/space (including taking photographs)
- Installing new SDA switches in preparation for Out-of-Hours work for installation/take on and testing of equipment, as well as providing ELS and decom/removal of old switches

The position is initially full-time on-site in Barrow in Furness until the end of the year, with potential opportunities for hybrid working later on. This role falls within IR35 regulations, requiring you to work through an FCSA accredited umbrella company.
