Requirements
Must:
We are looking for a Commvault Backup Engineer with the following qualifications:
- Experience in Commvault administration, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Knowledge and preferably experience with Commvault Hyperscale solutions.
- Ability to architect and implement a complete new Commvault solution from scratch.
- Deep understanding of IntelliSnap and its integration with block storage arrays.
- Experience integrating Commvault with RMAN for Oracle Databases.
- Hands-on experience with Commvault performance tuning and optimization.
- Knowledge of Commvault disaster recovery solutions.
- Experience with data migration and upgrade projects using Commvault.
- Familiarity with Commvault Command Center and other monitoring tools.
- Understanding of Commvault licensing and compliance requirements.
- Strong documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with the Commvault reporting suite, including the ability to create custom reports.
- Experience working in a finance background with adherence to strong change management practices.
- 8-10 years of experience in Commvault administration.
- Capability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Good understanding of traditional Data Centre architecture and automation technologies.
- Experience in troubleshooting and handling Commvault systems.
- Experience implementing Commvault disaster recovery solutions.
- Experience working with Commvault Command Center and monitoring tools.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem management skills.
- Ability to coach less experienced staff.
Responsibilities
As a Commvault Backup Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Administering and maintaining Commvault systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Designing and implementing new Commvault solutions tailored to our organizational needs.
- Integrating Commvault with various storage and database solutions.
- Conducting performance tuning and optimization of our Commvault installations.
- Implementing disaster recovery solutions and ensuring compliance with licensing requirements.
- Supporting data migration and upgrade projects, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Utilizing monitoring tools to oversee system performance and reporting.
- Documenting processes and procedures in Confluence for knowledge sharing within the team.
- Coaching and mentoring less experienced team members to foster their professional growth.
Description
This is a hybrid role, requiring you to work 3 days a week on-site in Sheffield, and it is an initial 8-month contract. Please note that this position is inside IR35, so you will need to work through an FCSA accredited umbrella company.
