Requirements
Must:
- I require at least two years of experience in a similar role.
- Experience with some or all of the following technologies: Microsoft Windows Desktop / Server Operating Systems, MS Office Suite 2013/2016, Exchange, Skype for Business, Teams Telephony, Active Directory, Firewalls (Palo Alto), Citrix XenApp, Office 365, VMWare, vSphere, Hyper-V, SAN, Zerto, Citrix, SQL Server, Aruba/Airohive Wireless, and PRTG network monitoring.
- I need someone who understands virtualization practices from a build, install, configure level through to standard support.
- A good grasp of TCP/IP networking is essential.
- The ability to install and decommission a range of hardware, including laptops, printers, PCs, monitors, servers, and racks is necessary.
- Excellent communication skills (in person, over the phone, and in writing) and a strong command of English are essential.
- I look for a personable candidate who can build rapport with both the internal IT team and client IT departments.
- The ideal candidate should be capable of quickly learning new customer networks; training and time will be provided, but adaptability is a must.
- Attention to detail and punctuality are crucial attributes.
- A strong academic background, including a bachelor’s degree or related IT qualifications, is highly desirable but not essential.
- This role will be based in our Chertsey office (with occasional travel to client sites).
- A full UK Driving License is essential for the role.
- Please note that all technical staff will undergo a thorough aptitude and technical test during the interview process.
Responsibilities
- As a Second Line Technical Support Engineer, you will be responsible for assisting our clients and internal teams with IT support issues.
- You will provide expertise in resolving complex technical issues related to the technologies listed in the requirements section.
- You will work in shifts as part of our 24/7 helpdesk team, alternating between 4 days/nights of work and 4 days of rest, with shifts from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM and 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
- Your role may involve field-based duties, including travel to London and other client locations.
