Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience as a Senior Connected Product Manager, IoT Product Manager, or Hardware Product Manager with end-to-end delivery.
- Technical fluency across hardware, firmware, and software.
- Extensive direct experience managing manufacturing partners in China.
- A track record of translating customer insight into specific product decisions.
- Comfortable without established process, preferably with a scale-up or lean team background where you built structure rather than inherited it.
Responsibilities
- Own the connected product roadmap from current state through to launch, with realistic planning and built-in contingency.
- Lead the day-to-day relationship with Chinese manufacturing partners, tracking engineering dependencies directly.
- Act as the integration point across hardware, firmware, software, and data, keeping all third-party partners aligned.
- Bring customer-first thinking to every product decision, translating user insight into tangible roadmap calls.
- Build governance and prioritisation structures to keep the programme moving as the team grows.
Description
We are a globally recognized sports hardware brand building our connected product function from scratch. The Senior Connected Product Manager will be the first hire into this newly formed transformation team, directly reporting to the Chief Transformation Officer. With a salary of circa £80,000, this role is primarily office-based near Harlow, Essex, with some flexibility for heads-down days at home. This position offers direct access to the CEO and involves regular engagement with our manufacturing partners in China, including potential international travel.
