Requirements
Must:
- Proven delivery in mechatronic products as Senior Embedded Software Engineer or Senior Firmware Engineer.
- Real-time control with sensors, motors, peripherals, and RTOS or bare metal; confident with lab equipment.
- Experience in regulated discipline with documentation, change control, hazard thinking, and release quality.
- Function ownership with clear trade-offs and strong communication skills to non-software stakeholders.
- Leadership in version control, CI, and release governance beyond daily Git usage.
Responsibilities
- Stabilise legacy code and shape future architecture across mechatronic devices.
- Partner with electronics, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to deliver reliable control in real products.
- Own product firmware from concept to fielded release.
- Develop and manage internal tool software for test rigs and manufacturing.
- Define specifications, conduct risk assessments, and ensure traceability.
- Lead source control, build, and documentation standards.
- Manage relationships with external partners and upskill colleagues.
