Requirements
Must:
- Proven delivery in mechatronic products as Embedded Software Engineer or Firmware Engineer
- Experience with real-time control involving sensors, motors, peripherals, and RTOS or bare metal
- Proficiency with lab equipment
- Background in regulated disciplines, including documentation, change control, hazard thinking, and release quality
- Ability to manage function ownership, clear trade-offs, and communicate effectively with non-software stakeholders
- Leadership in version control, CI, and release governance beyond daily Git usage
Responsibilities
- Stabilise legacy code and shape future architecture across mechatronic devices
- Partner with electronics, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to deliver reliable control in real products
- Own product firmware from concept to fielded release
- Manage internal tool software for test rigs and manufacturing
- Define specifications, risk assessments, and traceability
- Lead source control, build, and documentation standards
- Manage external partners and upskill colleagues
Description
