Requirements
Must:
- Solid hands-on experience with VMware (vSphere, ESXi)
- Proficient in Active Directory (Group Policy, domain services)
- Experience with DNS / DHCP configurations
- Knowledge of SAN Storage (configuration, troubleshooting)
- Familiarity with Windows Server 2016 / 2022
- Experience with Zscaler (ZIA/ZPA is beneficial)
- Proficient in SolarWinds (monitoring & alerting)
- Strong skills in general infrastructure troubleshooting and performance optimisation
Responsibilities
- Engage in a mix of business-as-usual (BAU) and project work
- Collaborate effectively within the team to enhance system performance
- Provide hands-on support and troubleshooting for various infrastructure tasks
- Assist in the configuration and management of virtualization environments
- Ensure the reliability and optimization of servers and storage solutions
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to project planning and implementation
Description
We are a leading public sector organization in Essex seeking an experienced Infrastructure Server Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. This is a great opportunity for professionals who thrive in a collaborative environment and desire to make a tangible impact across a large, complex estate. We operate on a hybrid working model, where you will typically work 2-3 days per week onsite in Essex. The contract offers a daily rate of £350-£400 (DOE) and is outside IR35, with an initial duration of 36 months, offering strong potential for extension.
