Requirements
Must:
- Hands-on experience with enterprise virtualisation platforms (VMware vSphere/ESXi/vCenter or Hyper-V)
- Background in infrastructure engineering or platform operations in enterprise environments
- Expertise in platform upgrades, patching, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
- Solid understanding of server hardware, storage integration, and enterprise networking
- Knowledge of ITIL processes (incident, problem, change)
- Experience in financial services or regulated environments (desirable)
- Scripting/automation skills (PowerShell, Python) and Infrastructure as Code (desirable)
- Familiarity with hybrid cloud integration and container workloads (desirable)
- Participation in disaster recovery and business continuity exercises (desirable)
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Ability to work effectively in global, multi-disciplinary teams
- Clear communicator, able to explain technical issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and risk reduction
Responsibilities
- Engineer, operate, and continuously improve virtualisation platforms (VMware vSphere/ESXi, Hyper-V)
- Manage platform lifecycle: patching, upgrades, capacity planning, and hardware refreshes
- Ensure high availability, resilience, and disaster recovery readiness
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and standardise virtualisation builds
- Troubleshoot complex incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive actions
- Maintain compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across storage, networking, OS, cloud, and applications
