Requirements
Must:
- Genuine interest in IT (problem-solving mindset)
- Good working knowledge of hardware, operating systems, and business applications
- Solid troubleshooting mindset: logical, methodical, calm under pressure
- Strong people skills—able to support users with mixed confidence/ability
- Organised, professional, customer-focused approach
- Minimum 5 GCSEs (A–C / 9–4) including English & Maths
- Level 3 IT qualification (BTEC/NVQ or equivalent) or practical experience
- Experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment (nice-to-have)
- Ticketing/helpdesk system experience (nice-to-have)
- Any exposure to M365 admin (nice-to-have)
Responsibilities
- Deliver 1st and 2nd line support onsite and remotely (phone/email/remote access)
- Log, update, and resolve tickets via the IT helpdesk system
- Diagnose and fix hardware, software, network, and peripheral issues
- Build, install, and maintain PCs, laptops, mobiles, printers, and peripherals
- Support a Microsoft stack: Windows, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Office apps
- Help monitor and maintain networks, servers, and business systems
- Keep endpoints safe: AV/endpoint protection, patching, security updates
- Maintain quality documentation and an accurate IT asset register
- Support rollouts, upgrades, and IT projects
- Escalate complex issues appropriately and learn from seniors
- Provide out-of-hours support when required
