We are looking for a proactive and collaborative software engineer who thrives in agile, multi-disciplinary teams and enjoys the challenges of working in secure, data-rich environments. To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Strong front-end development experience, ideally with data-centric applications.
- Experience in Power BI development.
- Expertise in developing applications in one or more JavaScript frameworks, such as React or Angular.
- A solid understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, and modern software development practices.
- Experience with Python (particularly with data and machine learning libraries).
- Experience working with ETL platforms and cloud-based data engineering tools (AWS, Azure, or OCI).
- Excellent communication skills and a solutions-focused mindset.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and operation of innovative front-end solutions that interface with enterprise-scale data ecosystems. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Designing and leading the implementation of front-end solutions for data-driven platforms.
- Developing and supporting real-time and batch data processing environments.
- Identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks across data pipelines and UI layers.
- Championing best practices in front-end development, using modern frameworks and tools.
- Supporting data integration, migration, and transformation efforts.
- Contributing to project planning, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies.
- Mentoring junior engineers and helping to shape development standards and tools.
Description

This hybrid role offers the chance to work on-site in Telford just two days a week initially, with increased flexibility over time. Desirable experience includes AWS or Azure certifications, familiarity with Java and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Pentaho BA), and experience with streaming technologies like Kafka.
