We are seeking a technically strong, process-driven leader with excellent communication skills. To be considered for this role, you will need:
- Proven experience managing complex IT environments at scale
- Deep expertise in CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform and Ansible
- Strong experience with GitLab and configuration management
- A background in secure Defence or Government environments
- Knowledge of AWS and hybrid infrastructure
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and organisational skills
Responsibilities
As our Platform Engineering Manager, you will oversee the creation, control, and operation of development, test, and production environments across hybrid systems. You will:
- Establish and manage environment configuration and control processes
- Support CI/CD pipelines and IaC deployment (using Terraform and Ansible)
- Implement and enforce GitLab branching strategies and version control
- Maintain hybrid environments (AWS and on-prem) under strict change governance
- Collaborate with technical teams to align testing, deployment, and production operations
Description
This is a 6-month contract position based in Farnborough, with a rate of £700–£800 per day (Inside IR35). The role requires DV clearance, and you must hold a current DV clearance to be eligible. You will be working within a SAFe Agile framework, coordinating with DevOps, Infrastructure, and Network teams to ensure environments are stable, consistent, and audit-ready for mission-critical digital services in a secure, hybrid cloud environment. Additionally, it will involve working 3-4 days a week on-site. We look forward to your application!
