Requirements
Must:
We are looking for a Senior Java Developer who has proven skills in the following areas:
- Java 21 (or later)
- Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour Driven Development (BDD)
- Experience with large microservice architectures
- Agile environments and pair programming
- Implementing APIs for internal and external use
- Building automated test suites in CI/CD environments
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux operating systems
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Additionally, it’s desirable to have experience with:
- Jackson, JAX-RS, Mockito
- ActiveMQ or Kafka
- MongoDB or other NoSQL/document databases
- Scaling high-traffic websites and handling large data sets
- Current BPSS clearance or the ability to obtain it, and eligibility for SC clearance
Responsibilities
As a Senior Java Developer, you will work with a public sector client based in Leeds on an initial 12-month contract. Your responsibilities will include developing robust Java applications, collaborating with team members in an Agile environment, implementing and managing APIs, and ensuring quality through test-driven development practices. You will be expected to attend the office three days per week, supporting a hybrid working model.
