Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience designing and implementing complex enterprise network infrastructure across data centre, hybrid and cloud environments
- Strong understanding of OSPF and BGP environments, with knowledge of enterprise and cloud network patterns
- Experience with Palo Alto firewalls across data centre and cloud, including Zero Trust and secure network design principles
- Familiarity with data centre technologies including VXLAN, EVPN, VRF segmentation and multi-site fabrics, with vendor experience such as Arista
- Knowledge of load balancing technologies including F5 BIG-IP (LTM, APM, ASM)
- Proficiency in network automation using Python, Ansible or similar tooling, with an Infrastructure as Code mindset
- Exposure to CI/CD practices including GitLab and version control applied to network engineering
- Experience with hybrid cloud connectivity across major cloud providers such as Azure, AWS or OCI
- Beneficial experience with SD-WAN, Aruba Central or ClearPass, or modernising legacy network environments
- Eligibility to hold or able to pass SC clearance for this role
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver complex network infrastructure solutions promptly
- Contribute to enterprise networking and firewall technology initiatives
- Implement automation and network management practices
- Collaborate with teams to develop netDevOps strategies
- Engage in the ongoing improvement of data centre architectures
- Oversee hybrid cloud connectivity projects across various environments
- Apply modernisation techniques to legacy network systems
- Work within a hybrid model, ensuring on-site attendance as required
Description
We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer (NetDevOps) to join our team for an initial 11-month contract, based in Newcastle, with opportunities for hybrid working arrangements. We offer a competitive rate of up to £650 per day inside IR35. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team focused on delivering high-quality network solutions for our public sector client. We also encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing among our teams in various locations, including Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, and Blackpool.
