Requirements
Must:
- Deep, hands-on AWS security experience across IAM, networking, compute, storage, and serverless
- Knowledge of AWS security controls including IAM least privilege, VPC segmentation, private endpoints, WAF/Shield, KMS, secrets management, and logging
- Experience operating AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, Inspector, Config, and Access Analyzer
- Skilled in vulnerability remediation across OS/packages, containers, libraries, serverless runtimes, and cloud misconfigurations
- Familiarity with CI/CD and DevSecOps practices, including shift-left reviews, dependency management, and pipeline guardrails
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code security using Terraform and/or CloudFormation
- Automation skills using Python or Bash to streamline remediation and control validation
- Familiarity with common scanning tools such as Inspector, Snyk, Trivy, Dependabot, or Prisma/Tenable
- Nice to have: AWS Security Specialty, Solutions Architect certification, container/serverless security experience, or experience with policy-as-code tools like OPA/Conftest
Responsibilities
- Focus on hands-on remediation of cloud and application vulnerabilities across AWS environments
- Collaborate closely with Developers, Data Engineers, and the AWS Security Lead to validate findings
- Prioritize risk and implement secure fixes across our AWS environments
- Strengthen AWS security controls throughout the process
- Own issues end to end with a delivery-focused mindset
Description
We are looking for an AWS Security Engineer for our client in the data sector, based in London. This is an initial 3 to 6 month contract offering hybrid working, with an expectation to attend the office 3 days per week, and a competitive pay rate of up to £500 per day Outside IR35.
