2432 IT & Software Developer jobs in the UK
Requirements
Must:
- Ideally, you should have a UK university degree in something relevant (computer science, infosec, etc.).
- Fluent business-level English is essential, as our clients need clarity, not jargon (both written and spoken).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to stay calm when everyone else is whispering “major incident.”
- Experience in writing and tuning detections, building automations, and onboarding logs without causing disruptions.
- Confidence to lead investigations while having the humility to recognize when something has been overlooked.
- Ability to mentor junior analysts without turning it into a lengthy lecture.
- Commercial awareness—just enough to understand when a client needs more help than they are expressing.
Responsibilities
- You will take the lead on live incidents, ensuring clients remain calm and collected.
- You will run investigations from start to finish and communicate findings to those who may not be familiar with technical terms.
- You will act as the primary point of contact for all SOC-related matters for your clients, including reports, communications, and escalations.
- You will build and tune detection content using tools like Sentinel, Datadog, and Elastic.
- If reducing false positives excites you, this is the perfect place.
- You will design new queries, automations, and Logic Apps to streamline processes and reduce MTTR.
- You will onboard new data sources, validate telemetry, map visibility to MITRE, and address any gaps that concern you.
- You will own documentation that is valuable and engaging, ensuring that it is read, not dreaded.
- You will help shape the SOC roadmap to facilitate purposeful evolution within the team.
Description
We prioritize self-starters who thrive in an environment without constant oversight. If you prefer structure, this role may feel challenging; however, those who create their own frameworks will excel. Our team values clear communication, humility, and professionalism. If you have relevant certifications such as SC-200, AZ-500, GCIA, GMON, OSCP, or CISSP, thats a bonus—but if you have the knowledge without the certs, thats perfectly acceptable too. If youre interested, we encourage you to apply. The worst outcome is a conversation that affirms you’re more capable than your current position. The best outcome? Joining a SOC that truly empowers you to utilize your skills effectively.
